Are Digital Agencies a Thing of the Past?
“4% of GitHub public commits are being authored by Claude Code right now.”
Research posted yesterday…it sounds insane, but when you start thinking about it is it actually? How many of those projects are just people who are trying programming using Claude Code or Claude Mobile App?
Are any of these public commits actually going to repos that are being actively used and are open-sourced? How many of those commits end up in PR hell of never actually getting merged?
When you put things into perspective, it sounds much different…
But what IS true is that Claude Code and other AI agents are being used. That’s a fact. And they’re really powerful tools.
The key word is tools (with great power comes great responsibility).
AI agents still need experienced people guiding them, defining architecture, making decisions, understanding business context, and shipping code that has 0 bugs. Speed and efficiency don’t come from replacing people with agents. They come from pairing great people with great tools.
So before you hand your entire project over to an AI agent, ask yourself: who’s steering the ship?
That’s where working with the right team still makes all the difference.
